Iran short 'Like a Good Kid' to battle it out at Festival de Cannes

Iran short film 'Like a Good Kid' is scheduled to play at Cinéfondation section of Festival de Cannes in France.

Directed by Arian Vazidaftari, the short will compete with 17 films in the Cinéfondation Selection 2018 at 71st Festival de Cannes.

The 20-minute flick narrates the story of Sarah, a 22-year-old babysitter who looks after Matin, a five-year-old.

One day, Matin tells Sarah a story which makes her decide to steal from the house.  

Although, it is Arian Vazidaftari's only sixth work as a director, he has been able to make a name for himself with his previous work 'Not Yet'.

The cast include Shadi Karam-Roudi, Negar Abedi and Yazdan Kokabi-Saba.

The Cinéfondation Selection 2018 has chosen 17 films, 14 live-action and 3 animated films. The selection has been made from among 2,426 submitted film schools over the world.

The jury will hand over the three prizes of this section during a ceremony on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

The 71st Cannes Film Festival will take place May 8-19, 2018.
